I started this project February of this year, so ten months ago. Since then I've switched jobs, moved house and have been trying to settle in to all these life changes over the past six months. I now have a dedicated space for book binding and thought maybe I should finish this project.

This comb bound book is about ten years old. |

Double Fan method of perfect binding |
Fan one way and glue |
Fan the other way and glue |
Glue the spine then press the spine between boards. |
Cut the book down |
Sew the book between the comb punch holes. |
Some mull for added strength |
Measure the book block and cut the boards. |
Originally I was just going to bind it normally but then I thought what if I do something I've never done before. You know becuase I don't bind regularly anymore so instead of trying something I know how to do lets experiment instead.
Didn't do the best job lining up the lettering with the card.
Here is where it all went wrong. I thought using the lighter Buckram book cloth would work but I needed to use thick Mannila Card or 0.5mm grey board instead. It looks horrible but I can't just afford to throw the materials away and start over so I cased the book in and I will try again with the next comb bound doing the same style. However I'm going to try my first attempt at whip stitching the next comb bound book.
