Just another A6 notebook

With the workshop 95% done I figured I'd make a quick notebook.  I had several A6 sized covers that I made in class as practice so I gathered enough signatures that would work with the size of the case.

I'm going to work on making books more than repairing at the moment as most of my bookbinding in the last eight months since I've started as been doing repairs rather than making books from the ground up.

I used calico on the endpapers to give them additional strength.

Slightly off at the end. My plough work still needs improving. I probably spend more time lining the book to be ploughed then I do sewing the signatures together!

Mull and Kraft paper to strengthen the spine

Not sure now why I chose Blue and Yellow end bands. I had Red.

Time to case in the book block

after a few hours in the nipping press with nipping boards

I could have squared that in a bit better

And done! Not perfect but I've not made that many books in the eight months since I started this hobby. Between work, family, the dog, other hobbies, and the weather. I don't get as much time as I would like bookbinding.  Hopefully with the workshop refitted that will change!
